When we say that food is medicine, it seems like an understatement when you consider how successfully, proper food and nutrition has adequately tackled some near hopeless health challenges. I recommend that whenever possible, we should cook our meals ourselves especially during those challenging years of old age when our organs may not be as active in removing toxins.
It is best to cook our meals ourselves whenever possible to enable you avoid as much as possible unwanted toxins into your body. Anytime, we eat food, we are either feeding the bugs or starving them.
Here are five foods you should consume daily to help starve that disease:
1. Garlic:
Garlic is quite familiar to us but not with bacteria and microbs. It is best to use this natural taste enhancer daily in your soups and stews to help bring out the taste of your meals and at the same time reducing inflammations, killing yeast and other unwanted bacteria. Garlic is a natural ingredient with no side effect. Remember to always add your garlic towards the end of your cooking in other to get the benefits.
2. Cayenne Pepper
Fresh cayenne pepper is my everyday pepper, other peppers like black pepper, bell peppers are good but not an everyday pepper for me. Cayenne pepper is anti inflammatory, contains antioxidants such as vitamin A, C, it boosts blood circulation and helps relieve pains and arthritis. You can get the fresh or dried cayenne. They are all good. But whoever possible, choose the fresh version.
3. Ginger
Ginger is another great spice that you can safely add to your soups and stews daily. Ginger help in producing more stomach acid to aid digestion. You can blend or mix your ginger with garlic as a paste and add to your soups and stews to help fight pain, reduce other inflammatory conditions, stop heart burn, help digestion, ward off cold and kill yeast and other bugs that suppress our immune system. You can also take ginger as tea with honey especially at night if you suffer pains. Ginger is great during cold weather to help keep you and your family warm.
4. Onions
Fresh onions is another natural taste enhancer in our kitchen that is often overlooked. Onions is great for people with bronchial issues like asthma, same with garlic and ginger. Onion contains iron needed by your body for many functions. Onion is an easily digestible vegetable that can be safely enjoyed daily in our soups and stews. It kills yeast and other microbes like garlic, it contains sulfur and helps strengthen our overall immune system.
5. Sea Salt
Natural sea salt is a great food addition to help our body fight and resist frequent infections with over 80 micro nutrient as against refined table salt with only three It brings out the natural taste in your soups and stews without making your Soup acidic like table salt.
