Health Benefits of Coconut; UNIBEN Students Gets the Message

The President of the foundation was at the University of Benin, Benin City, Edo State Nigeria on Wednesday 26 August 2015 Creating awareness on the Health Benefits of Coconut.  She spoke to the students at the Chemistry department of the institution on the Health benefits of Coconut and the need to incorporate more natural foods into their daily diet.  Here is a summary of her message to the students.

Reasons to Include coconut in their diet:
  1.  It is available
  2.  Coconut is affordable – especially as students
  3. It is a raw food, requiring less stress on the body for absorption, and no extra effort and expenses for cooking and preparation
  4. It is medicinal due to its content of Lauric acid, papric acid and medium chain fatty acids –  These are rare nutrients in nature making the coconut a unique food for disease fighting
  5. It is  loaded with important nutrients like calcium, iron,potassium,magnesium, zinc and many more
  6. It has anti fungal properties, helping it fight candida and the like
  7. It is rich in healthy fats for brain health especially as students
  8. It is unique in its fat burning ability
  9.  It is a source of Omega 3 and omega 6 fatty acids.  Omega 3 being particularly rare
  10.  It has antiviral, antimicrobial and antibacterial properties.
